DELTA KAPPA EPSILON is one of the oldest college Greek-letter secret men’s social fraternities. Founded in 1844 at Yale, our traditions are timeless. We do not let any man join but must be of equal proportions “the scholar, the gentleman, and the jolly good fellow.”
In Alberta, the DELTA PHI Chapter established itself in 1932 as one of the most prominent fraternities and it has continued a lasting legacy of successful men in industry, academics, politics, and service who exert their influence and leadership around the globe.
Canadian Dekes from the seven chapters across the country are also well-connected, whether it be in Victoria, Vancouver, Burnaby, Winnipeg, Toronto, or Montreal, there are also Dekes in many other cities and you can always find a brother when you need one.
Our immense alumni involvement and widespread business network are rooted in tradition and genuine brotherly love. This bond extends beyond our university years, shaping our lives through shared experiences with our families and children who grow up together.
From memorable vacations and moments of support during times of sorrow to celebrations of personal victories, DELTA KAPPA EPSILON exemplifies a truly unique brotherhood. It embodies all facets of what fraternity stands for, embracing individuals from diverse backgrounds and uniting us in a lifelong brotherly connection.
Our secrecy is rooted in time-tested ancient wisdom and knowledge, builds trust and common bonds among the brothers no matter what age and no matter where you are from. Secrecy is also an important skill to learn in business and relationships and you know what? It’s fun yet serious.
“BROTHERSHIP” is more than brotherhood and friendship. It is exemplified by our motto “Friends, from the Heart, Forever“.
FOREVER. Not just a few years at university. For a lifetime. We mean it. For the man who is away from his own family and friends, DKE is another family of genuine friends that will last a lifetime.

“The Deke House”
11003 87 Avenue, Edmonton AB T6G 0X5, CANADA
Across the street from the U of A main campus, owned and managed by the DKE Housing Association, this house was opened in 1998 and has been the home to hundreds of students and hundreds of parties. It replaced an existing house purchased in 1986. Prior to that, Dekes have had their home at numerous houses along 87 Avenue. Parking available in the rear.

Every September, the “Dekes” in Edmonton consider new members to become a lasting part of the brotherhood. As this process takes a couple weeks for the brothers to get to know you to offer you an opportunity to join, this period is called “Rush”, and so you must attend many of the events listed below to be considered. DKE Kick-Off BBQ – Sun. Aug. 24 – 4:00 PM at the Deke House. Free Burgers, hot dogs, beer. Get an early start to the school year and DEKE RUSH! Friends and family welcome!
WELCOME BACK PIG ROAST BBQ AND DUNK TANK FOR CHARITY – Tue. Sep. 2:00 – 10:00 PM at the Deke House. Free beer too.

This website will be the news and events portal for all duly initiated and recognized active and alumni members of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity residing in or visiting Alberta.
In Alberta, the Delta Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon consists of several dozen young men as active students at the University of Alberta. The Chapter is continually and strongly supported by hundreds of alumni spanning various age groups, backgrounds, and professions.
As of August, the Chapter is now considering those university students so qualified to join its ranks. Visit www.dekerush.net to learn about the fraternity in general, famous alumni, what we do, who we are, and how to become a “Deke”.
